OK sense you wish to stay with your mom, send the dog back, so he can 
be with someone else who will get out with him and work him.
You both would be happier.
I am sorry that all we have suggested doesn't work.
Then when you learn all of the things you want to learn, you can be on 
your own, and ask again for another dog if you choose to travel with a dog.
you will feel better about yourself first, that is what is important.
Your dog is young and he will be happier getting out even if it is 
short trips each day.
