Hi Kody,
By law you don't have to let your landlord know you are getting a guide dog. 
It is a courtesy as Lori stated . I have been to NYC many times with my dogs 
and its hard to find a place to break them. They are taught to break on 
cement which makes it easier since you are in NYC. Congratulation and I wish 
you the best in training with your Fidelco dog.
