Education Assistant
Performs instructional tasks in classroom to assist licensed teaching staff.
High School diploma/GED and NM Public Education Department Level 3 licensure
will be required.  Background/experience in working with
visual/multiply-impaired students is preferred.  Full-time, 9-month position
for the 2023-2024 school year, will be required to become Braille
proficient.  Applications accepted until filled.  
 
Residential Life Assistants
The New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired is currently
recruiting part-time evening and part-time graveyard Residential Life
Assistants.  Will be required to provide individual and group guidance
services related to scholastic, educational, personal hygiene and social
skill development to students who are blind/visually impaired, with/without
other impairments.  Part-time nine-month evening position: 3:30 pm to 9:30
pm and part-time nine-month graveyard position: 1:30 am to 7:30 am.
Graveyard shift provides vigilant supervision and assists with morning
hygiene.  Must remain awake for all shifts.  Applications accepted until
filled.
 
Recreation Assistant, Substitute
Assist and implement recreational activities and creative arts programs for
visually and/or multiply impaired students.  This is a 9-month position for
the 2023-2024 school year, regularly scheduled 2 days per week from 1 pm to
8 pm. Additional hours may be available with lifeguard certification.
