People also need to realize that if they do in fact get an overpayment it
can be paid back in some cases for as little as $10 per month. Usually they
will not take more than 10% of a monthly SSI benefit allotment.

hi all...
I went to the social security office today and anyone who is on SSI will
have to payback the amount of the check that they received in the month they
got the target money plus any other month that you still have some of it.
You must prove to them before July that the money is gone or you will end up
with an overpayment for July as well as June. I'm writing them a check out
of the money to cover the overpayment and I've already got rid of the rest
paying bills. I have an appointment next week to take my receipts in so that
I will not have an overpayment in July... I'd recommend anyone on SSI get to
spending and get in before July 1st.

people who are on Section 8 or who live in HUD subsidized complexes are
required to report changes in their income. These changes in income affect
their proportional rent payments. This need to report changes in income or
spend down resources would also affect people that are on any type of public
assistance such as TANF formerly AFDC.
