[Nfbc-info] Accessible Point-of-Sale Machines

Eileen raises a good point about the lack of accessibility that most of us
encounter when making a retail purchase through point-of-sale devices. Do
others on this list have examples of retail stores where accessing the touch
screen point-of-sale interface has been a problem?

Recently, trying to find an old slot machine on an Indian reservation or in
Vegas is like winning a Jackpot. They are almost nonexistent. At least that
has been my experience lately.
On a similar note, I was in Radio Shack making a purchase of a Bluetooth
keyboard and their POI was still not accessible. There was no keypad
accompanying the touch screen in order for the blind to have equal access to
making a private purchase. Is there any way to register this incident to
correct the issue. I know that several of us recently have been going there
to purchase a particular Bluetooth keyboard. It would be interesting what
others have found and who needs to be alerted to this issue.
Thanks.
Eileen

Actually, there is a phone number you can call to get the winning numbers or
go to the web site. On some of the old slot machines a blind person could
tell by the sounds the machine made similar to the old pin ball machines. My
two cats are demanding to win the loto jackpot.
