Hello All:

Attached is a very important announcement and application for the Blind
Advisory Committee (BAC) which is the primary body of decision makers for
consumers and service providers to the Blind Field Services Division of the
California Department of Rehabilitation. It is critical that we find at
least two blind or sighted interested individuals who have a commitment to
assuring that mandated regulations are fairly implemented and consistently
followed throughout the state.

Please read the criteria for membership and contact President Ever Lee
Hairston to notify her that you are interested in applying and representing
the NFB of California. Be aware that you will need a resume to include with
your application both electronically and printed. The printed version of
the application must be signed and received by the deadline of January 20,
2017.

Let's make sure our voices are heard on this critical advisory committee. I
can tell you that when my husband, Jim Willows, chaired this committee for 3
decades, regulations and standards were constantly being amended. Without
our participation in the decision making process, we cannot improve services
to the blind in California.

Sincerely,

Mary Willows
