Please see the below information on the American Association of People with Disabilities' Summer Internship Program. In my opinion, this is one of the best internship programs in the country. The program places college students, graduate students, law students, and recent graduates in internships with Congressional offices, federal agencies, non-profit organizations, and for-profit companies in the Washington, DC area. It is a once-in-a-lifetime invaluable experience. Housing and transportation to and from Washington, DC are paid for by the program. Interns receive a stipend to cover the cost of living expenses as well. I participated in this internship program in between my junior and senior year of college and it led to a full-time job in a Senator's office. I would definitely encourage any self-motivated, assertive current or recent college, graduate, or law student with a disability to apply. For more information, click on the link below:
