Visually Impaired and Sighted Participants Wanted for Internet Search Study: 

 

Hello, my name is Shannon Tomlinson and I am a Ph.D. student at the School of Communication and Information. I am conducting a study that will compare the way visually impaired people who use screen readers and sighted people search for information on the Web. Specifically, I will be comparing how people type searches into Google and how they speak searches into Google Search by Voice, such as when you search out loud on a mobile device. 

 

For this study, I need 6 visually impaired participants and 6 sighted participants. You must be 18 years or older. English must be your first language. For those who use screen readers, familiarity with JAWS for Windows is necessary. The study will last approximately 1 hour. 

 

Participants who complete the study will be given $20.00. Participants may also be reimbursed for travel expenses if you provide receipts such as a taxi receipt.
