Subject: Bill Pascrell's cosponsorship of the Access Technology
Affordability Act
Joe,

Please forward the following message to the NFBNJ distribution list.

Thanks and take care,

   Ryan

Greetings, fellow New Jersey Federationists,

I have some really good news concerning our legislative agenda. One of the
items we are advocating hard for this year is the Access Technology
Affordability Act (HR 2086). This would provide blind individuals a tax
credit up to $2,000 when they purchase adaptive hardware and software. This
would help offset the cost and allow blind people to acquire the technology
they need faster and more independently. The good news is that we have our
first cosponsor of this bill from New Jersey, namely Bill Pascrell.

To those who are in Congressman Pascrell's district, please call his office
and strongly thank him for his cosponsorship of this legislation. The rest
of us need to reach out to our specific House member and encourage him or
her to sign onto the bill as well. When you do, let them know about
Congressman Pascrell. If they know that a member of the New Jersey
delegation is supporting this bill, they are much more likely to follow
suit.

The easiest way to contact your House member is to call the Capitol
Switchboard at (202) 224-3121. Again, the bill is the Access Technology
Affordability Act, HR 2086. Let's stand up and do our part to increase equal
participation by the blind in everyday life!

Thanks and take care,

   Ryan
