Subject: [Nfbnet-members-list] IMPORTANT phishing alert
Good afternoon everyone,
I wanted to draw your attention to a scam that is currently making the
rounds to members’ inboxes purporting to be from President Riccobono. You
may receive an email with the subject line “Sorry to bother you during this
Pandemic” and a from address of executiveboard29 at gmail.com. The address
appears to belong to Mark A. Riccobono. Recipients are asked if they are
free at the moment.
Rest assured that President Riccobono has not sent such a message and does
not use a Gmail account for National Federation of the Blind communications.
There is no need to respond to this message or engage the sender. Please
also be aware that you may see variants of this message—different
originating address, slightly different subject line or content, etc. Always
confirm email message legitimacy before responding, clicking hyperlinks, or
opening attachments.
Should you encounter what you believe to be spam messages sent on behalf of
the Federation, you should forward them on to issues at nfb.org. Thanks for you
continued vigilance. Stay socially distant and stay healthy.
Kind regards,
John
