Request for distribution from NFBNJ Garden State Chapter Passing of Eileen
Carr

Longtime member of the NFBNJ, Eileen Catherine Carr, 94 years young,
passed away on January 23, 2021 following a lengthy illness. Eileen was our
dear friend and a long-time member in good standing in the NFBNJ Garden
State Chapter and Senior Division.

We who knew her will miss her warm smile and positive attitude. Her
lifelong sense of adventure was matched by her wit and sense of humor. Her
life was memorialized this month during a Zoom service by the Unitarian
Universalist Church of Cherry Hill where, for decades, she had been an
active member.

She was a wife, a mother and a teacher. Eileen taught 5th grade > for many
years, until she received her Master's Degree in reading, which qualified
her to teach high school English. She was also a staunch advocate of
women's rights and belonged to the National Organization for Women (NOW)
for decades.

Eileen's love of music also was lifelong. She enjoyed playing the piano and
after am Elderhostel weekend on mountain arts in South Carolina, she could
play the dulcimer as well. Eileen led quite a remarkable life. After her
hip surgery, she would always be with her walker, which Eileen
affectionately called her Cadillac. We will miss you terribly Eileen,
