The Disability Management Employer Coalition (DMEC) is the only
national association dedicated to knowledge, education, and
professional networking in integrated disability, absence management,
and return-to-work solutions.DMEC provides companies with trusted
information, strategies, tools, and management resources to maximize
compliance with regulatory leave laws and minimize lost work time and
improve workforce productivity.

Position Overview
This position reports to the CEO and is an integral part of the Senior
Management Team. The Vice President of Education Products will serve
as DMEC’s point person and lead subject matter expert in the
development and delivery of our training, resources and education
programs, products, and services. The selected candidate will ensure
that our existing educational offerings are highly relevant and
continuously improving, while identifying and developing new
educational offerings and resources to meet member needs.

This position is responsible for researching, developing, and
launching new education products, and responds to company initiatives
by driving new products to meet educational needs for the absence and
disability professional.

Job Summary
The Vice President will be responsible for identifying and developing
new education products and updating existing products; conducting
market research; generating product requirements; determining
specifications, production timetables, pricing, and time-integrated
plans for product introduction; and collaborating on marketing
strategies.

Essential Functions

Works with the Board of Directors’ education committee and DMEC staff
to develop timely and relevant education programs, oversees annual
conferences committees, and works with staff to develop DMEC
e-learning programs.
Develops, drives, and evangelizes product vision, strategy, and
multi-year roadmap aligned with DMEC’s strategy and overarching
vision, business plan, and goals.
Manages the product lifecycle of all products from concept to growth,
commercialization to members and nonmembers, maturity, and retirement.
Manages future and existing assigned products, establishes milestones,
sets objectives, and reports on performance.
Develops methodology to test and measure products and applications.
Conducts periodic product analysis and optimizes as needed.
Grows company revenues by developing new products and updating
existing products.
Ensures revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.
Identifies distribution partners for current and future education products.
Oversees product certification process.
Collaborates with marketing team on advertising, public relations and
all marketing communications to meet product objectives.
Participates in cross-functional teams to execute product development plan.
Knowledge and Skills

7 + years’ experience in the development and/or administration of
absence management programs.
High level of expertise in FMLA and ADA legal mandates, and
administration of these responsibilities within employee leave
management programs.
Experience developing and/or administering internal or external
training classes/courses.
Knowledge of professional certifications. The ideal candidate will
have one or more of the following (or similar) certifications: CPDM,
CDMS, CRC, CCM, CCMP, ADMS, S/PHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, CEBS, ARM.
Proven success in developing compelling product visions combined with
a track record of successful execution
Experience shaping products from a strategic level with a deep
understanding of tactical technical realities
Proven ability and desire to satisfy customers, understand their needs
and translate those needs clearly and articulately into the product
development process
Demonstrated experience attracting, managing, developing, evaluating,
and retaining a team.
Ability to lead, influence, and motivate individuals across all
functions and levels
Skilled in holding people accountable, establishing high standards of
excellence, and stretching their abilities to perform their best work
A strong technical orientation to product management in order to
collaborate with knowledge about opportunities and challenges related
to architecture
Strong process orientation with a demonstrated ability to evaluate
processes and implement change at all business levels
Proactive sense of urgency with an ability to anticipate, respond,
build consensus, and pivot to the needs of employees and customers and
make tough decisions in the face of resource constraints and ambiguity
Excellent communication skills, with experience communicating
effectively up, down and across groups with varying degrees of
technical background
Deep understanding of the software development process, experience
with agile models, and aligning scrum-level work with strategic
initiatives
Strong strategic thinking, problem solving, business analysis, and
decision-making capabilities
Experience in working with volunteer boards and committees.
Proficient decision making, process management, problem solving and
time management skills.
Salesforce experience preferred
Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite applications, including
PowerPoint and Excel.
Self-starter with excellent administrative and organizational skills
who is capable of multi-tasking and who is adept at managing his/her
own time and working with minimal supervision as part of a virtual
team.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position will supervise the Education Manager and Online Events
Administrator positions.

Work Location – Home Office
All DMEC staff work remotely. The person filling this position is
required to provide a separate and private home office area, free of
household noises and distractions. The incumbent must have access to
reliable high-speed internet service, landline telephone, and cell
phone service. DMEC provides necessary office equipment, including a
computer and printer, and reimburses reasonable home office expenses.

Travel Requirements
The bulk of the work is normally performed in the individual’s home
office in a virtual work environment. However, occasional travel is
required to attend conference events, staff meetings, and for other
purposes involving travel and overnight stays away from home which
generally last from 2-4 days, 5-8 times per year.

Salary & Benefits
Salary is commensurate with experience. DMEC currently provides the
following paid benefits: employee health insurance, vision, dental,
group life, disability (STD and LTD), vacation, sick pay 401K, FSA, 10
paid holidays and up to 3 additional paid floating holidays.
