Special Education Assistive Technology

Lifesteps Inc., a regional human services Organization headquartered
approximately 30 miles north of Pittsburgh in Butler, PA is seeking an
experienced Director of Assistive Technology (AT).

This position is responsible for focusing on research, development,
strategic direction and compliance related to Assistive Technology.
The position will provide Assistive Technology direction and
leadership by collaborating within the Organization and with outside
Agencies/Vendors/Associations/Universities.

The work schedule is M-F from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  *   Lead Assistive Technology project management efforts, including
related documentation.

  *   Have direct involvement in sustainability AT, including
procurement of funding and business development.

  *   Measure performance/effectiveness of program technologies and
Services and Support activities.

  *   Conduct data analysis, reporting and presentation of findings.

  *   Conduct needs analysis to determine what AT hardware/software is needed.

  *   Develop policies and procedures related to AT.

  *   Document processes related to AT.

  *   Procure, maintain, distribute and demonstrate the use of AT
hardware/software (from low tech to high tech)

  *   Maintain inventory of AT devices/components.



Position Requirements:

  *   Bachelor's Degree in related field (Computer Technology, Special
Education, Speech Language Pathologist, Psychology, Social Services,
etc.)

  *   Self-directed, driven and goal oriented.

  *   Project Management skills.

  *   Experience working with individuals of all ages with physical,
intellectual and/or developmental disabilities preferred.

  *   Competency determining needs of programs and individuals
regarding use of AT.

  *   Experience presenting/training to programs and
individuals/families regarding the use of AT.

  *   Demonstrated diverse background in multiple functional areas
(Leadership, Assistive Technology, Information Technology, Project
Management, Business Intelligence, etc.).

  *   Expertise with a wide variety of Assistive Technologies.

  *   Understanding of general Information Technology concepts.
