Kerry, look at the Braille Edge from HIMS, and also the RefreshaBraille from
American Printing House.
The Edge has 40 cells, but is stable but not as portable. The
RefreshaBraille is 18 cells, is portable.
I am not big on having lots of buttons, the fewer buttons the better, both
suggestions I have taught with iOS and with a screen reader.
The Edge has a built-in Notepad app for taking notes. The RefreshaBraille
is primarily a devices for use with a computer or Apple mobile device.
I am not or can not speak as highly for other devices in the marketplace.
If you would like to speak offline about it, contact me at

Good afternoon,
Those are all good questions and I should have thought to say those things.
I plan to use it primarily with my iOS devices, to read speeches and other
information. To interact with them directly.
I would like to use Perkins input and my budget is no more than $4000 My
last braille display had to 32 cells but I am willing to go no higher than
40 cells.
Thank you so very much for any suggestions.
Kerryann Ifill on the move!
