Blackboard Ally Accessibility Tool - University of Arkansas Newswire

Jan. 21, 2020

A new accessibility tool called Blackboard Ally is now available inside all Blackboard Learn courses.

This new built-in tool guides instructors through the process of creating and making course content more inclusive and accessible for all students.

Ally automatically checks course content and files in Blackboard for common accessibility issues, such as missing alt text or headers. It also looks for content that is not formatted for screen readers. Ally offers feedback on how to improve content accessibility and creates alternative formats such as audio files, electronic braille and screen-readable PDFs. This tool also improves readability for mobile devices and tablets.
