The Summer Get Yourself Moving Personal Challenge is at the halfway point
and Jane Degenshein has offered to conduct a Book Club for any individuals
interested in participating in the challenge and reading the amazing book 
“The
Blind Doctor”. If you are joining this challenge, please register by

there will be a book club to discuss this unbelievable book for which the
Bolotan Awards are so aptly named. They will meet on Monday, June 25 at 8

The NLS BARD entry is the blind doctor: the Jacob Bolotin story: a
biography DB64720 Perlman, Rosalind; reading time: 8 hours, 13 minutes.
Read by John Haag.

Health and Medicine \ Disability

Biography of Chicago-born Jacob Bolotin (1888-1924), blind from birth. The
author, whose husband was related to Bolotin, discusses Bolotin's
determination to become a physician and describes the hard-won training
that enabled him to practice medicine as a respected heart and lung
specialist. Some strong language. 2007.
